I could see cars pulled over and in Alaska this is code for "something cool is over here."

There were two little herds of caribou out and about.

It was a beautiful day.  The sun was casting this glow all over.  It was gorgeous.

Let's Explore ::: plants

This week I decided to explore my bamboo plant.  I love this plant and haven't really taken any pictures of it so it was the perfect subject for me this week.  I started by shooting the pot it came in.  I liked it enough to leave the bamboo in the original pot.  You can see my chalkboard underneath.  Nice little backdrop here.

I then backed up and shot the whole plant from every angle in the room and light settings and decided I liked this one the best. 

I photographed the stalks.....

I placed the plant on the floor and pictured it from above with my feet.....

and finally one without.

I love these projects.  It gives me a chance to explore my camera and my subject.  Some of the shots actually came out interesting.

I am always excited to photograph family.  I made a goal years ago to photograph everyone I loved.  Each time I take another shot of the ones I love it brings my heart joy.

Wearing red for Bryson

We have some friends and their little guy was born with half a heart seven years ago.  He is the sweetest little guy and he has the family to match.  For the month of February they wear red and I thought I would join in and show my support.

To remind myself (because I can be forgetful) I placed a red scarf at the end of my bed.

Today I pulled out all my red clothes and I did not have much.  So, I went to Old Navy and loaded up.

 I love Old Navy pj's and earrings.

moose chronicles

I do not know if I am more excited about seeing the moose or that sun.  I am soaking it up and loving it.

frosty with a side of sunshine

Our temperatures have been so crazy lately but the sunshine is right on schedule.  I have been loving it.  Seeing it just makes me smile.

These two love to get out and explore...normally sniffing all the places other animals have been.  Oy Vey! Whatever makes them happy.

The higher temps have been melting Olaf but today he is showing some frost.
